Z is for Zodiac
Just like us, the ancient Egyptians had their own version of a zodiac. Instead of signs, they use their gods (with the exception of Sphinx and Phoenix); Thoth, Horus, Wadget, Sekhmet, Sphinx, Shu, Isis, Osiris, Amun, Hathor, Phoenix and Anubis.
(Not the Egyptian zodiac, but the only picture I could find) Taken from here |
Which god do you come under in the ancient Egyptian zodiac? Was the description accurate?
I was born under Horus - some of it is accurate, some of it isn't lol.
ReplyDeleteI was born under Sekhmet - says one of the job I might be is a writer, so, hey, I'm happy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your knowledge of Ancient Egypt this month, it's been a brilliant A to Z :)

Huh! I got Wadget . . . this was cool! Hey you made the A to Z, yay!!
ReplyDeleteI was born to be a writer - how about that?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing the Challenge!
Interesting. I was born under the sign of the Phoenix and was surprised at how accurate it is.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about how I feel about the zodiac... Congrats on finishing the A-Z!!!
ReplyDeleteI was born under Horus. I'm not naturally sociable, so that doesn't really fit. Oh well. It was interesting to read!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing the challenge!
How fun! I got Sekhmet and love that it says writing is associated with this. The fact that it says the sign is related to sports champions is funny though since I'm the most uncoordinated person on the planet and easily the worst athlete LOL.
ReplyDeleteYour theme was great, Laura!
I too would be considered an Isis, and it's not really very accurate for me, either! Oh well. I'm sure the Ancient Egyptians had fun with them. :) Well done for getting through the A-to-Z, and finding something Egyptian for each letter. This has been fun and informative. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for the Zodiac and the letter Z!
ReplyDeleteWell Done Miss Laura . . . .But I always knew you would get to Z.......
ReplyDeleteI was born under Osiris, the god of the nether world, but I don't think the description was accurate. Hmm . . .
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. I love learning about our Zodiac, so I'm going to have to learn more about the Ancient Egyptian Zodiac.
I've had a blast reading your posts. Congratulations on making it to the end! :)
I'm under Wadget and the description was nearly perfect. I had lots of fun reading your posts for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteI got Horus. Probably the most inaccurate horoscope yet. "Jobs assumed: politicians and media men." Talk about nightmare professions. Oh, and I'm also not "brilliantly sociable." Hehe. Thanks for a great A to Z Laura! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the useful information and congratulations for finishing the challenge :)
ReplyDeleteI never knew this - I was born under Sekhmet Many of the world sports champions are born under this sign. - that made me laugh because if there is anything further from a sports champion than me, I'm not sure what it is - LOL. I do like the bit about brilliant mentality though ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for lots of very interesting post and information through this month, it has been lots of fun to come to your blog and have you visit mine.
