My New Bedroom!

Yay, my bedroom is finally finished! It's been mostly finished for about a week, but we've been waiting on a mattress for the bed, which finally arrived today! So I'm looking forward to a good nights sleep in my new double bed tonight :)
Here are some pictures:
This one's a bit dark, but I couldn't get it to come out any lighter! It just shows the bed, wallpaper, curtains and my old wardrobe :)
This is my new bed, which I'm very excited about as before I was sleeping in a bunk bed! 
A close up of the windowsill, with some purple accessories on it: A candle, a lantern, and a candle holder.
And here's my chest of drawers at the other end of the room, with the plain purple wallpaper behind it. I'm loving my purple lamp and the jewellery tree, I never knew I had so many necklaces!
So that's my bedroom, and that's my post for today! Although the bedroom is finished, I do have some ideas of other things I'd like in it, such as a dressing table, a mirror and some pictures for the wall. 
Here's one more picture for you, from the other day when my boyfriend and I figured out that it's more fun playing with Haribo than eating it!
He's got a broken heart, so he's drinking his pain away!

    I'm glad to hear that you're happy with your new bedroom Laura, it looks pretty good from the photos. I love the last photo too, the dinosaur drinking from a cola bottle is a pretty funny idea.

    Your room looks lovely. The wallpaper is gorgeous. I've always wanted my room decorated with a nice bird wallpaper and shabby chic furniture with a light pink paint on the unwallpapered walls. But sadly I have really bad water damage in my room so decorating is a no go at the moment and I'm sure by the time it's all fixed I'll be living elsewhere!

    I must agree with Retha, Laura. Your bedroom looked like a garden of violets in bloom — from the wallpaper, the curtains, everything! It's such a nice interior, and I think it's gonna be comfortable to sleep there.

A is for Arachne and Arlee!

Before I get to my Greek Mythology part of this post, at the request of Alex J. Cavanaugh  (great idea by the way, Alex!), I'd first like to thank Arlee Bird for coming up with the challenge in the first place. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be taking part in this amazing experience every year. Thanks, Arlee! This is one of my favourite tales from Greek mythology, so naturally I chose it for my first letter. Arachne was the daughter of a shepherd, and was famous for the beautiful tapestries she weaved. Nymphs would travel from all over to see her work, and to watch her weave. One day, a nymph asked her if her talent was a gift from the goddess Athena. Arachne protested, saying her skill was all her own, and that her weaving was better than Athena's. Athena heard of this, and challenged the girl to a weaving contest.
