My Goals for July!

Here's my monthly post on how well I did on my goals for the previous month, and my goals for the next month. My goal post for June can be found here.
My first goal for June was to finish Game of Thrones, which I managed to do a couple of days after I wrote the post, so that was good!

I was going to pick a serious picture, but this one made me giggle!
Also, I wish winter was coming, I'm sick of the hot weather!
My second goal was to finish decorating my bedroom, which was a little harder because of some problems with the wallpaper I'd gotten and waiting on a mattress, but as you can see in this post, I got it done in the end! I bought some new stuff for it today actually, so now I have a mirror, a picture and a fluffy beanbag chair in it too!
The next goal was to practise on my keyboard, since I hadn't been on it since January! I didn't do quite so well on this goal, and it took me most of the month to get started on it! However, I started the other day and have made quite a lot of progress, it just took a while to get started :)
My fourth goal was to write some more short stories, which you can see that I have done by looking here, here and here.
And I probably did the worst job of all on my last goal, which was to eat more healthily. I tend to eat really healthily for breakfast (fruit toast, or cereal with fruit and yoghurt) but then it's downhill from there! I have a really bad sweet tooth, and it's been worse than usual this month!
Oh well, 4 out of 5 isn't bad :)

So, here are my goals for July:
1. Indulge my sweet tooth a little less! I really don't want to have to start going to the gym, so that means I'll have to give up some of my treats!
Taken from here
2. Learn a full song on my keyboard. I should be able to do this one quite easily if I put my mind to it, as a couple of days practise has taught me a third of the song. A few more days and I should know it all, and it'll be nice to be able to play something all the way through!
3. Read at least 2 of the unread books on my bookshelf. After I finished Game of Thrones last month I managed to read one of my unread books, but I didn't have much chance to read last month, so I'm hoping this month I'll get more books read.
4. Work on my 'Water' short story and see if I can plan it into a novel - a couple of you have commented that you think the story could be turned into a bigger one, so I'm going to spend this month seeing if I can do that! I've started this, and it's going well so far.

So there are my goals for July, the hardest one will probably be number 1!

  2. Best of luck in completing these goals Laura and congratulations on completing last months. Honestly that seems like a really good idea to make goals and try to complete them, it helps you better yourself, some of those like the short story one mustn't have been easy to complete either.

    1. Thanks! It's certainly helped a lot writing them on my blog, I think if I had just done a list that only I could see I wouldn't have been as successful. Let's hope I do as well this month! :)
