The Immortals Series!
I apologise for not doing a post on Saturday, I had a very busy day and couldn't fit one in! I went to spend the day with all my friends from uni, who I don't see very often these days! One of them recently had a baby, so we were all invited round for a barbecue and to meet her little girl - only a month old, so cute!
Anyway, today for my reading post I'm going to write about the Immortals series by Alyson Noel, which is well worth a read! Ever since the car crash that killed her mother, father and sister, Ever can see people's auras, hear their thoughts and if she touches them she can learn everything about their past. Because of this, she avoids human contact and listens to really loud music so as not to hear people's thoughts, and this behaviour has lead to her being branded a 'freak' at her high school. Enter Damen Auguste - the only person she can't get a read on, and whenever she's with him, the noise in her head subsides.

Favourite book: My favourite book in the series is book one, Evermore, because I love learning about each of the characters and seeing the relationship between Ever and Damen develop. This is also the book in which they have the least amount of problems! I do love all of the books, though :)

Favourite main character: Ever is my favourite character, although sometimes I just want her to stop and think about what she's doing!
Favourite secondary character: Miles is one of Ever's best friends, and he's always been a good and loyal friend to Ever, unlike her other best friend Haven! I also just love Miles as a character, he's very funny and very honest.
Favourite villain: Roman is definitely my favourite villain in this series, I love the games he plays and his cleverness in playing them.
Least favourite book: My least favourite book is Blue Moon, just because I don't like how the storyline goes! It's in this book that Ever and Damen's biggest problem happens, and Ever spends the majority of the book on her own, if I remember correctly. Still a good read though!

Least favourite main character: Haven is definitely my least favourite character, she has no personality of her own so just copies everyone else's, and she's not a very loyal friend. She gets worse throughout the series, but you can see it from the first book.
Least favourite secondary character: Ava, because she's just a little bit boring!
Least favourite villain: Drina (Damen's ex) is my least favourite villain, because she's just horrible! She does everything for selfish reasons, and she enjoys causing people pain.
So there's my post on the Immortals series, I would definitely recommend giving it a read, it's very good! Alyson Noel has started a new series now, I bought the first book the other day and can't wait to read it! :)

Damien sounds like quite the cool villain, I'd never heard of these books before reading your review Laura but reading them sounds seriously worthwhile now, awesome review.
ReplyDeleteThanks! They are good books, certainly kept me entertained for a while :)
DeleteI enjoyed them at the start but after a while they just became really tedious to me - I guess it was just that there was problem after endless problem. Plus, the characters got annoying after a while lol! I did like how they weren't vampires though but that their immortality was due to alchemy
ReplyDeleteYeah I liked that too, a bit more original than vampires! The characters were kind of annoying, but I think it helped that I read them spaced out, instead of one after the other. And there were points where I just thought for god's sake, stop creating more problems!
DeleteYeah I thought the same thing! I was like, you're meant to be with Damon so why are you causing problems by running after Jude and Roman lol?!
DeleteHonestly, I wanted to slap her in the face sometimes! But I guess if there were no problems, there would be nothing to write about!
DeleteHaven't stumbled across this series before but may give it a go. Thanks for highlighting it.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like some good characters to read of...thanks, Mary
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! It is a good series :)
DeleteHow have I not read this????? Thanks for pointing this out to me!!! :D
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! :)
DeleteSo this series isn't like the other vampire series out there dominating the reading world? Hmm, sounds interesting, might give this a go :)
ReplyDeleteNope, no vampires :) It's worth a read :)
Delete:) Even though I read this first book and disliked it, I still enjoyed seeing your positive POV on the book! I really love the fantastic way you formatted this post!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! Glad you liked it :)
