What's Up Wednesday

What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow, and the idea is to let other bloggers know where you are with any writing and reading goals you may have.

1. What I'm reading

While I was on holiday last week I finished reading Game On by Kyra Lennon, Half Bad by Sally Green, Forgiven by Rachel Morgan and Supernaturally by Kiersten White.

Game On was just as good as I expected it to be - I really should have read it sooner. I really enjoyed Half Bad, the main character reminded me a little of Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye. Forgiven was a novella that I got free off Amazon, and it was great. I loved the Creepy Hollow series written by Rachel Morgan, so it was nice to read something else by her. Supernaturally was great, it's taken me a long time to getting around to reading it but it was well worth the wait. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Right now I'm reading Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake, sequel to Anna Dressed in Blood, which I read over a year ago.

2. What I'm writing

I've started revising my NaNo novel, and it's about time! I'm pretty much doing a whole re-write - there are a lot of things in the story that need changing, so it's easier to rewrite than to try and change every scene to make it work. I've only done one scene so far, but it's a start, and I already like where it's going.

3. What else I've been up to

We've had some lovely weather here lately, so I've mostly been taking advantage of that. My mum, her boyfriend and I went to Spurn Point on Saturday, and walked to the very end and back (6 miles in total, I think!) We weren't very well prepared - we didn't take water and we completely forgot about sun cream, but we had a great time and I'm the only one who got burnt, but only a little bit.

4. What inspires me right now

Progress! I've been wanting to start edits on my NaNo novel for months now, so it's nice to finally be underway with that. It's certainly inspiring me to carry on and get it done. Also, my time off last week did me a lot of good, so I'm feeling refreshed and ready to face anything.

  3. Congrats on starting to revise. I know whenever something needs revision, but I can't get to it, it's like a cloud over my head. Good luck!

  5. I read SUPERNATURALLY ages ago and even have the second book in the series, but still haven't read it. I really should get around to that sometime. Though, I think a reread of Book 1 might be in order. You got lots of reading done this week! Gotta love holidays. :-) I think progress is super inspiring. The more you move forward the more you want to get done. It's almost addictive. Hope you have a wonderful week all around! :-)

  11. I too have been making an effort to go out and walk outside in the nicer weather more.

Lots of parks and ravines nearby.
