Confessions Blogfest

If you're looking for my Celebrate the Small Things post, you can find it here
Time for the Confessions Blogfest, hosted by Dani and Jackie. The idea is to confess anything you're not proud of.

Here are my confessions:

- I bought a piano on a whim two years ago, and have yet to use it. This is mostly because it needs tuning, and I just haven't got around to getting someone in to do it yet. It is a little embarrassing that I spent so much money on something I have yet to use.

- When I listen to music alone I have it really loud and sing along really badly. I love singing, I'm just no good at it! I also dance around like an idiot.

- When I'm watching something alone, I have a tendency to shout at the TV, even if I've watched the movie/programme before and know what's going to happen. I also tend to get more emotional watching things on my own, so I cry more - maybe because I desperately try to hold my tears in when I'm watching things with other people.

Comments

  1. I shout at the television during sporting events and it doesn't matter if I'm not alone, so don't feel bad.

  2. Awww... I do the crying thing when re-watching a movie alone, too... but I never gave thought as to why. I like that you pointed out that it could be because we hold it in when others are around. You're probably right! And don't beat yourself up too much over the piano... I could make you a list of stuff that would add up to the same price tag, I'm sure! The list begins with top-of-the-line rollerblades and ends with expensive film editing software. I think we all do that... good intentions and all :-)

  3. I always cry at sad endings and then I can't sleep afterwards. I hate sad endings. Have a great, happy week.

  4. I always cry too when I'm alone. I hate it! I'm such a damn softy but that's usually the only time I cry. Movies just really get me.
I can't even play the piano so at least you're working in the right direction!

  5. I talk to myself, often, out loud, and sometimes people even notice. (I'm too busy narrating the world around me.) Yup--we each have our own brand of crazy, eh? ;)

  6. That's crazy that you haven't used the piano before but then again I had a keyboard bought for my birthday years ago and only played it once so I can understand, at least you have it when it gets tuned and you fancy learning it!

  7. Your second and third confession - I do them too! Glad to know I'm not the only weird one in this world. Haha.

  9. We have a piano, too, and it makes a lovely plant stand.

  10. I yell at the TV sometimes too, and I also sing really badly when I'm alone. I love singing, but I feel bad inflicting my voice on others.

  11. I have not played a guitar in nearly two years since we moved house . . . OK that does not sound really bad. but then I do have nine of them. . . .

  12. I talk at the TV sometimes too and I'd love to have a piano even though I can't play.

  13. I do the crying when watching tv/movies alone thing too. In addition to singing loudly/badly, I also dance terribly when listening to music alone.

  14. I'm a crier... movies, commercials, songs. It's good for the soul! :D

  15. It doesn't take much for me to cry over anything sad I hear on the news...why I don't watch television too much!

  16. I can share two of your confessions Laura. I love singing loudly to music when I'm alone, and have a tendency to forget that people can actually see me when I do it in my car!

I also love a good cry at either tv or movies, but I can only do it on my own. I have to try and keep it in when I'm with someone and do you know what, it makes my head hurt when I can't get a good cry out.

  17. I enter stasis when I'm in front of my computer for hours on end. Food, water, sleep, and bathroom breaks are completely ignored until I look away from the screen.

  18. I'm like you on confessions #2 and #3. I don't shout at the TV, but I'll talk to it.
