Celebrate the Small Things

Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly bloghop hosted by Viklit over at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week.

This week I'm celebrating:

- After being so worried about money last month, I needn’t have worried at all. Because I did much less hours than usual, I got taxed a lot less than I usually do, so my pay was actually still quite high. I should still have enough left over after expenses to move into my savings. This is a huge weight lifted from my mind.

- My meeting with my tutor went really well, he said my writing has improved a lot since I started the degree and that there’s not much else that needs doing to my dissertation, just minor edits. It's very nearly finished now, which is exciting and scary at the same time! I'm hoping to send it off to be bound at the beginning of next week, which means I'll be handing it in early, which is strange for me!

  1. That's great news about your writing!
And it's that how taxes work? Minor pay raises sometimes suck because you move into a higher tax bracket and lose it all - and sometimes more. Glad that worked in reverse for you.

  7. Congrats on keeping a handle on the money thing. I still check my statement online every day - not that I'm a control freak or anything.

  8. Excellent news on both counts. Isn't money just the most boring thing? Yet we all have to worry about it all the time.
