What's Up Wednesday

If you're looking for my ISWG post, you can find it here

What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow, and the idea is to let other bloggers know where you are with any writing and reading goals you may have.

1. What I'm reading

I'm still reading Sarah Dessen, this time Dreamland, since it's main theme is domestic violence, and that's the theme for one of my short stories that I'm writing for my dissertation. It's not one of my favourite novels by her, but I'm hoping it'll help me with my story.

2. What I'm writing

Camp NaNo has well and truly started, so I'm writing my dissertation. I've done 2152 words so far, and finished my first story out of 7, so it's going quite well.

3. What else I've been up to

I went shopping yesterday, and got quite a lot of stuff for my holiday to Spain on the 19th, which is quite exciting! I'd been looking forward to the shopping trip all weekend, and it didn't disappoint :)

4. What inspires me right now

Camp NaNo is certainly inspiring me a lot, and as usual, I'm being inspired by music. My holiday is also inspiring me, just knowing that I'll get a good long break after I've finished my first draft.

  1. I've only read two Dessen books so far, but I'd like to check out some of her older stuff. Dreamland was actually recommended to me recently. Happy to hear that your dissertation is going well and that you've made good progress. Spain? That sounds fantastic! You must be so excited. Have a great week, Laura! :)

  2. I'm reading Sarah Dessen too atm, I am a massive fan of her books, but I'll admit Dreamland isn't one of my favorites either. Glad your dissertation is going well :)

  3. Yay for dissertation writing, and have a great time on your holiday. You're working hard; you deserve a rest!

  4. Is there a NaNo for every month now? I can't keep track!

  5. I read Dreamland in high school and it really opened my eyes to domestic violence. I adore anything by Sarah Dessen. Good luck with Camp Nano!

  6. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your shopping trip Laura, your holiday sounds like it's going to be so awesome!

  7. Good luck with Camp NaNo and your dissertation! I hope you enjoy your trip to Spain! My parents went there on vacation when I was a kid and they loved it! I've never been, but it sounds like a great place to visit!

  8. Great start to Camp NaNoWriMo! Glad it's going so well.

  9. Dreamland is probably my least favorite Dessen - hope it helps! How exciting that you're planning for a vacation to Spain - lucky! Good luck with your goals this week!
