Halloween Bloghop!

So I just decided on the spur of the moment that I wanted to participate in the bloghop by Jeremy Bates. I love Halloween so I figured this would be fun.
For this bloghop I have to mention my favourite monster movie or book and my Halloween costume this year.
My favourite monster books (I couldn't only choose one) are the classics, Dracula and Frankenstein. I read them both for the gothic module in my English Literature degree, and enjoyed them a lot. I prefer the books to the movie adaptations, but of course this is the same in most cases for me!
As for my Halloween costume this year, I'm really excited because usually I don't do anything for Halloween, and therefore don't dress up, but this year I'm going to two different Halloween parties, so I get to dress up twice! I'm going as a Witch to both parties, which I'm excited about. I went and bought a Witches hat and broomstick the other day, and I'm going to use clothes I already have; a lace skirt and a lace top, very witchy! I didn't know how they would work together, but I tried them on earlier and it looks better than I thought it would. I'm going to do my make-up witchy too, and wear some purple tights.
Happy Halloween, everyone!

  1. I love the FRANKENSTEIN book. DRACULA, too, but Frank has my vote. My favorite monster? I'll always go with zombies.

    1. I don't think I'd be able to choose a favourite monster, it would be too hard.

  2. I'm so glad to hear that you're going to two Halloween parties Laura and think that you're going to rock that witches outfit! I went to my first Halloween party ever on Saturday and had so much fun!

  3. Coolness. I've gone to one party. Halloween in the Philippines isn't a big thing yet, but this year I noticed a lot more Chinese made decor in the malls. They celebrate All Saints Day here. People go out to visit their dead loved ones, eat at the grave, sing, etc.

By the way, you have to post some pics of your costume!

  4. Have fun! I must get round to reading those classics. I think I've only read the abridged Ladybird version of Dracula (as a kid, obviously). *blush*

  5. Frankenstein and Dracula- nice choices! Have fun at the parties!!!

  6. enjoy your parties . . . . . . ..

  7. Frankenstein is a great book - I should have mentioned that one on my post! Have fun at the costume parties! Purple tights are awesome!

  8. When I was a kid, I loved watching the Adams Family and the Munsters. They scared me so much. Ha.

  9. I love the book Frankenstein! Have a fun party! :)

  10. it's nice using your own stuff for most of your costume, that stuff can get pricey! read your spooktacular blog, too, great entry! new follower here, hi, and bloghopping...
