Express Yourself Meme - Language!

It's that time of week again, time for the Express Yourself Meme!


This week's question is:
What language would you like to speak and why?

My answer to this question is slightly geeky! I would absolutely love to learn Japanese  for a few reasons. The main one is that I absolutely love watching Japanese anime, and it would be nice to be able to understand the characters without having to read the subtitles. I also really like the language, I think it sounds beautiful and I love speaking the few words that I have learnt.
If I ever did learn it, I would make my sister learn it too so we could have conversations with each other without anyone else understanding us; I've always wanted to be able to do that!

    It's pretty cool that you love Japanese anime Laura, you never struck me as a weeabo person. I think I'd learn to love Japanese too because I've always been interested in watching animes but I've never been able to really to get into them due to the language barrier, moving to Japan for a while would be really cool too, great post!

      Oh yeah, I have a slight obsession with it! I'd love to visit Japan, it would probably be the easiest way to learn the language! I'm interested in the culture too, so it would certainly be interesting :)

    I actually work with a few people that speak Japanese & Chinese and it is a very pretty language.

    I'm working on French. After that, maybe Italian. I have a bootleg copy of Rosetta Stone with levels 1 and 2 of about 30 different languages.

    I would love to learn Japanese for the exact same reason! I would also love to learn French, Russian, German and even Gaelic!

    Japanese is one of my favorite languages as well. I know some bits and pieces of it, but I'm nowhere near fluent.

      The only words I can speak are silly little ones that I've learnt from the anime I watch, I'd love to be able to speak more!

    I'd improve my German so I could help the boys keep up with theirs. Their mother is German so they all speak it to a certain degree and are better than they think.

    Yes, I would have to agree with you. Japanese would be my second choice for exactly the same reason as you! The anime.

The Insecure Writer's Support Group was created by Alex J. Cavanaugh as a place where writers can talk about their insecurities once a month, and receive encouragement and support from other writers. A is for Arachne and Arlee!

Before I get to my Greek Mythology part of this post, at the request of Alex J. Cavanaugh  (great idea by the way, Alex!), I'd first like to thank Arlee Bird for coming up with the challenge in the first place.
