IWSG - June
The Insecure Writer's Support Group was created by Alex J. Cavanaugh as a place where writers can talk about their insecurities once a month, and receive encouragement and support from other writers. It's such an amazing group, it even has its own website now, which you can visit here.
So, it's been a really long time since I actually blogged properly. The last IWSG post I wrote was way back in March! Sorry about the absence.
My new laptop came yesterday, so now I have no excuse not to get back into full-time blogging, and I've got to tell you, I'm pretty excited about getting back into it. I've really missed blogging.
So, my insecurities this month? Same old stuff really; even though I have my laptop now, will I have the time to blog? Will it be enough to bring me out of my writing slump?
Well I'll tell you right now, I'm determined to get back into this. I will find the time to blog, no matter how many hours I'm at work, and for me the more I blog, the more I write, so one thing will lead to another. I'm even toying with the idea of doing Camp NaNo next month; I've had a few story ideas brewing for years now that I've wanted to write during a NaNo month.
Yes, I have plenty of insecurities this month, but I am determined not to let them pull me under. I will become a regular blogger again, and I will start writing again.
Already, it feels good to be back :)
Welcome back, Laura! Yay about the new laptop too!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back! Sorry if you have to had yourself back to the list. Awesome you have your new laptop. No excuses now - write, write, write.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back. Have fun with the new laptop. That's always exciting.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same place as you! I've missed some IWSG posts and a lot of blogging. Hopefully we can both get back into it! Enjoy your new laptop!
ReplyDeleteAmen! I'm working on getting back into the swing too, and whew! We can do this!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting back into blogging myself, which is why I'm doing the IWSG today. It's frustrating though because for some reason I can't comment using my Wordpress account, and my old Blogger account doesn't lead to my current blog, though I've put the blog in my Google+ profile. (My blog is 'My Antimatter Life' which is #271 on the IWSG list.)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have the greatest of success with your return to blogging, and with Camp NaNo.
Yay! Great to see you back and I can relate to the awesomeness of a new laptop. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back to blogging, and congrats on the new laptop! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat that you have a new laptop! I'm blogging part time this summer, then will pick up the pace again after Labor Day Weekend.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to blogging! It seems a number of us are/were going through blogging slumps. Sometimes we just need a bit of a break, get some perspective then jump back in. :)
ReplyDeleteWoot on the new laptop. Blogging slumps happen. I blog less. Make a plan that makes you happy, then it's easier to stick. Work with yourself.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, glad that you have a new laptop. Looking forward to seeing you blogging regularly.

If you want to do camp NaNo, I was thinking about it too. Maybe we could be 'chain-mates'….
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back!!!
ReplyDeleteI got a new laptop too. Last month. I am loving it but haven't done as much writing with it as I hoped.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're back! :D
It is good to have you back around the blogosphere, Laura. Enjoy the new laptop and the writing.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck getting back into the swing Miss Laura. All you need is a small window each day or every other day to do a little bit and then post as and when things get finished. I look forward to your return. . . .
ReplyDeleteThe important thing is you're back now. Good luck getting into the swing of things.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Laura; for some of us blogging and traditional writing go hand-in-hand. Once I realized that blogging was legitimate writing for me, I felt much better about the time I was spending on it. It is a new genre and an exciting one. How exciting to have a new computer! You'll get back in the groove!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new laptop! I'm sure it will help you blog and write more. NaNo is quite a challenge, but everyone who does it comes out better than they went in. Any writing is good writing!
ReplyDeleteI'm having the same problems, and I'm also trying to get back into a blogging groove. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Jealous because I properly need a new laptop, lol. Yeah, it's all about a regular output, whether blogging or writing, and I'm glad they encourage each other for you. Camp NaNo would be a good kickstarter, with a definite goal in mind.
