Celebrate the Small Things and Goals for November
Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly bloghop hosted by Viklit over at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week.
- Read 4 books - I got 4 books read this month no problem - I've been aiming for a book a week.
- NaNoWriMo prep - my outline is done, I have loads of notes and character profiles for my major characters, so that's a yes! Just got to write the novel, now!
- Finish my Halloween short stories - I finished my Halloween stories and they turned out really well, getting amazing feedback from everyone!
- Read 4 books - I should be able to do this, assuming NaNo doesn't take up all of my time.
- Nanowrimo! - 50,000 words in a month; wish me luck! I can't wait to get stuck in.
- Get ready for moving, and move! - This is the thing I'm worried about most, and I think the month will go really quickly because of it. If I'd known I was moving a little earlier then I probably wouldn't have signed up for NaNo! Oh well, I love a challenge :)
- Get started on Christmas shopping - I've barely even thought about what to get people this year, so I must start planning for Christmas! I always leave it really late, and mean to start earlier every year but I never do.
This week I'm celebrating:
- NaNoWriMo! I've been so excited to start my novel, so I'm celebrating that NaNo is here at last! It turns out my November is going to be busier than I had planned (see below) so I'm hoping to get ahead in the next week.
- I got some great feedback on the stories I put up for Halloween blog fests this week - thanks to everyone who commented, I really appreciate your kind words! I was also a runner up in Spooktoberfest, which is great!
- The reason my November is going to be busier than I had planned is because I'm moving! My mum's moving in with her boyfriend, and I'm going with her, since I can't afford a place of my own right now. He lives in a city about 45 minutes away from us, so it's quite a big move, and it means I'll be transferring my job to the store there. Scary stuff! Exciting, too, though. Living in a city will bring me far better prospects than where I live right now.
Since it's November, it's time for my monthly goals! My goals for October were:
- NaNoWriMo prep - my outline is done, I have loads of notes and character profiles for my major characters, so that's a yes! Just got to write the novel, now!
- Finish my Halloween short stories - I finished my Halloween stories and they turned out really well, getting amazing feedback from everyone!
Three goals completed out of three, not bad! Here are my goals for November:
- Nanowrimo! - 50,000 words in a month; wish me luck! I can't wait to get stuck in.
- Get ready for moving, and move! - This is the thing I'm worried about most, and I think the month will go really quickly because of it. If I'd known I was moving a little earlier then I probably wouldn't have signed up for NaNo! Oh well, I love a challenge :)
- Get started on Christmas shopping - I've barely even thought about what to get people this year, so I must start planning for Christmas! I always leave it really late, and mean to start earlier every year but I never do.
You just took away all excuses, Laura. If you can do all that AND NaNo, then there's no reason why anyone else who says he's busy can't do it.
ReplyDeleteHope the move goes slowly and good luck with NaNo!
Exciting times ahead, hope the move goes well and good luck with your NaNo challenge!
ReplyDeleteWow, NaNo and moving in the same month. It will be busy. I hope you can reach all your goals.
ReplyDeleteRhonda, celebrating at Laugh-Quotes
City life can be exciting although I am much happy in the middle of nowhere being grumpy. You sound like you are going to be very busy, I know moving is always more work than you think it might be (well it always has been for me).
ReplyDeleteAH Christmas that is closer than I would like it to be.....
And good luck with the writing, but I'm sure you will cope with that hunky dory.......
Wow, very busy month!
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best of luck with everything. Have fun packing/unpacking and writing that novel ;)
Wow! A book a week?!? I can't even fathom! I'm behind on my goal for a month, sheesh! And now with NaNo It's gonna be a struggle to do even that! Thanks for the push, Laura- I need it!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for NaNo, yay! I'm plugging away myself today, and exstatic to be reveling in the fun!
Good luck with ALL of your November goals- especially the momving (I find it insanely stressful myself so I totally understand!)
Christmas shopping? Arrrg!
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy month you're going to have. Good lick with Nano and with the move!
ReplyDeleteI totally loved your Halloween stories. :)
Wow you really will have a busy month Laura, can't wait to hear all about it, good luck.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh good luck with the move, sounds like a VERY busy month.
