Celebrate the Small Things
Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly bloghop now hosted by Lexa Cain. The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week, no matter how small.
This week I'm celebrating:
- I went out with Jamie on Wednesday; we don't get too many days off together, so I thought we'd take advantage of this one. We went for a carvery (do you have those in America? You get a choice of meat, like roast beef, turkey, gammon or pork, and then you serve yourself whatever veggies you want, and of course stuffing, yorkshire puddings and gravy). I've wanted one ever since I came back from Greece, so I'm glad we finally got around to it! Plus, I got an awesome dessert:
A Strawberry Shortcake Sundae; it was delicious!
- I had a productive day off yesterday; I finally put up my Greece post, with lots of pictures (click here to take a peek), then I got another couple of pages done on the outline for my 2013 NaNo novel. I've hit a tricky part with it now; there's a whole chunk of the story that I want to change completely, so it's on hold until Tuesday (my next day off work) so I can really get it sorted. I'm looking forward to it!
- I'm feeling pretty motivated right now; I think my two weeks away in Greece did me a lot of good. It was certainly a much needed break.
- Misty's been so fussy since I got back; I think she's missed me!
What are you celebrating this week?
We probably call them something other than carveries. After all that food though, no way I'd have room for desert.
ReplyDeleteGlad your time away did you some good!
Hi Laura, I don't think we have carveries, but I wish we'd start them. So glad you had fun and you're making good progress with you writing. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've got a carvery on the mainland where we go shopping. I love it. Each time I go I say I'll have something different off the menu this time and then each time I have a carvery anyway!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your writing. :-)
Yay for a great night out -- the food sounds delicious! Congrats on the outline progress. Cats get their feelings hurt when you go away and get huffy. Mine used to deliberately sit down right in front of me with her back to me and ignore me when I said her name. I'm off to see the Greece pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Misty missed you greatly. That sundae looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteA carvery sounds sort of like the buffets we have here in the States. That dessert looks so yummy! Glad you were able to get some time off together. Good luck with your WIP! Heading over to see the Greece photos now. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad you're back and that you had an epic trip. Mostly I'm glad that it energized you. Kick some trash, eh? (Word wise.)
