What's Up Wednesday
What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow, and the idea is to let other bloggers know where you are with any writing and reading goals you may have.
1. What I'm Reading
Since the last time I wrote a post for What's Up Wednesday, I've read three books: Four: A Divergent Story Collection by Veronica Roth; Rain by Virginia Bergin and Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater. My favourite was the latter, of course.

I'm now reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It's only been a year since my last re-read of the series, but I couldn't resist breaking into my new set!
2. What I'm Writing
Not much, at the minute. I'm in the middle of a seven day trot at work, so hopefully on my next day off (Monday) I'll get a little writing done! I'm hoping to continue with my NaNo edits from last year, and also finish off the stories I started for Halloween blogfests.
3. What Works for Me
At the moment? A break. I've had to take a step back from both blogging and writing since getting my new job, and it was the right thing to do. I'm starting to get the hang of balancing work and writing now, which is great because I've missed writing, and blogging.

Lots and lots of working. I'm also looking for a house of my own; scary stuff! My boyfriend's looking to transfer over here, so we're looking for a house together. I can't wait, even if it is a little scary.
You'll like being out on your own, although it is scary the first time.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're finding your balance.
Great reading material. And breaks, are desperately needed from time to time. I highly endorse them. I'm just going back to my WIP after putting it on a six-month time out. It's amazing how much clearer I can see things now that I removed myself for a while.
ReplyDeleteHouse hunting is exciting. Those day jobs sure get in the way of writing but they're so necessary.
ReplyDeleteAhhh house hunting. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteFinding balance is so hard to do. Enjoy your break and good luck with the house hunting and figuring out your work/writing schedule! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your reread of Harry Potter, I've just started the last one of the series and it makes me a little sad that I've nearly finished the series again because I've been rereading them on and off for the last year or so.
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteI always wondered if the British version of Harry Potter is very different. (Other than Philosopher instead of Sorcerer.)
Time to find your own home . . . . . well that is exciting so the very best of luck I hope it all goes to plan.
ReplyDeleteWhew! Seven days straight? I'm glad you're still alive. I probably wouldn't be. Here's to balance and finding yours!
ReplyDeleteUnleashing the Dreamworld
Best of luck with the house-hunting! Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in the middle of Blue Lily, Lily Blue and of course loving it so far.
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding a house- how exciting!
It's always amazing to me the way that things that are so overwhelming in the beginning slowly settle into part of our life and make way for more stuff. It sounds like you are in a great place. Good luck with it all!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the house-hunting. Hope you find something awesome! :D
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all that work and house hunting ^_^
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding a house! Finding a work and writing balance is hard, and it's always changing, but so worth it when it all clicks :)
ReplyDeleteI want to read Blue Lily, Lily Blue.
ReplyDeleteLots of busy and exciting stuff going on for you! *hugs*
