A to Z Theme Reveal and Celebrate
Not long now until the A to Z Challenge starts, and that means it's time for the big reveal.
I always love choosing a theme for my A to Z posts. The first year that I participated I chose Fairy-tales, and that was really interesting to get into. I learnt a lot that I didn't know. Then last year I chose Greek Mythology, which I loved.
I wanted to keep up the tradition this year and go with a theme that I would love to learn about, and hopefully you will all love to learn about it, too.
This year, my A to Z challenge theme is...(drumroll please)...Ancient Egypt!
I always loved learning about ancient civilisations at school, but we didn't go into them in depth. I hope you all like my theme.
Now, time for Celebrate the Small Things, a weekly bloghop hosted by Viklit over at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week.
- I had a great break from work, and I feel refreshed and motivated. I'm actually glad to be back at work. Apparently I was missed, which is nice to know.
- I ordered some new books with my birthday money last week, and they arrived yesterday. There's nothing better than a new book (or four).
I always wanted to know about the myths/legends of Ancient Egypt. Looking forward to your posts.

Hi there, Laura.
ReplyDeleteAncient Egypt, you say. Check out my Khamsin, the Devil Wind of the Nile (3080 BC - at the dawn of that great civilization) Hope you have a great time with your A to Z Challenge digging through the sands of Egypt.
Diana Wilder also has written a whole series of great books - way later than mine - but with better known pharaohs (she is blog-hopping here with us as No. 16).
Let us know as that ancient world opens up to you.
Glad to meet you (with my new computer that doesn't throw fits when I open a website).
Inge
What a wonderful theme - I love Ancient Egypt. I will definitely be checking back to see how you incorporated all the letters :). I remember learning about Tutankhamen at primary school and it left a life long love of the history and artefacts. Good luck with the challenge.

Oh this will be great! I always loved learning about ancient history in school but there is SO much we never covered. I'm a history buff and I know I will love your posts.

New books are always worth celebrating! And I love your theme! Ancient Egypt always interested me as a kid. I would love to visit the pyramids and the sphinx sometime. I look forward to reading your posts!
ReplyDeleteCool! I don't know a whole lot about ancient Egypt. Looking forward to it! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat! Ancient Egypt is one of my all-time favorite places in time! Can't wait to read your AtoZ posts!

Very cool! Looking forward to your posts :)
ReplyDeleteNew books are great. Your theme sounds very interesting. It's too bad schools don't take the time to study those things. With the Common Core mess there will be even less time spend on ancient history.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome choice! I can't wait to read your posts.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you had fun on vacation and I'm sure you were missed at work. It's nice to take a little break and be refreshed when you come back. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOrdered a bunch of new books myself. One has arrived so far but since three were pre-ordered I know I have to wait a bit. Books are awesome. Anyway I'm glad you were missed and that you had a great time off. I'm so excited that you're doing Ancient Egypt, definitely will be visiting you next month.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading your posts, Ancient Egypt is an intriguing topic to have as your theme.

Hi Laura, I can't wait to read about your 26 days of Ancient Egypt. My elementary school is a Core Knowledge School in which we teach, along with our Texas requirements, world history. Our 1st graders are the lucky ones to explore Ancient Egypt.
ReplyDeleteWonderful theme! I love ancient history.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read these posts. I can already guess a few of them!
ReplyDeleteI love learning! All different cultures fascinate me! Good luck!
