Heroes and Villains Blogfest

The Heroes and Villains blogfest is hosted by Jackie from Bouquet of Books and Dani from Entertaining Interests. The idea is to list as many of your favourite heroes and villains as you'd like.

My favourite heroes:

- Harry Potter - thought I'd go for the obvious first. I love the fact that he is a hero without really wanting to be one - he's pushed into it because of circumstances, and he always had a choice. He didn't have to be a hero at all.

- Captain Malcolm Reynolds, from Firefly - I just finished watching Firefly and Serenity for the first time, and I loved them. Although Mal can occasionally be harsh, he is a great captain and always looks out for his crew.

- Luke Skywalker - he didn't have to leave his home to fight the Empire, but he did anyway, and he fought really bravely.

- Buffy Summers - Another 'chosen one', who saved the world a bunch of times, even dying in the process. She comes up against so much and never gives up, always willing to lay her life down to protect the people she loves.

- Iron Man - I'm really into my Iron Man/Avengers movies right now. Iron Man is my favourite avenger, and I love that he's not a typical hero - not with that personality!

I love a good villain, stories really wouldn't be complete without them. Here are some of my favourites:

- Voldemort and Dolores Umbridge - I couldn't choose between these two for Harry Potter. Voldemort is obviously the main villain of the series but Umbridge is just despicable! Sometimes I'm not sure who I hated more.

- Darth Vader - the fact that he can kill people without moving is just frightening.

- Loki, from the Avengers - I just love Loki. He's a great villain.

- the Lannisters - particularly Joffrey and Cersei. Cersei is just horrible, but Joffrey is an evil, twisted little...

- Angel - from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Season two is one of my favourites because he is the villain - he's my favourite villain of the series. Certainly one of the most twisted, and the season is so much better because his vendetta against Buffy is so personal.

- Sauron - all that pain and destruction caused by him, because he wanted power.

  5. Really good point on Umbridge Laura, she actually became so despicable that she outdwarfed even Voldemort's hatefulness for me! Good idea for a blogfest too.

  9. yes on Dolores. Most people forget she was a villain. And a great one at that. I think it was the pink and kittens that made her extra evil. lol

  13. You have Loki on your list, yay! He's my fav :). You have some other great choices too, Mal and Luke are two of the best and Harry is a great hero. I never did get on with Angel as a villain, but mostly I think that was because my inner Buffy/Angel shipper was screaming 'nooooooo' very loudly at the time ::g::.

  14. Oooh - Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Iron Man and Loki - love these picks. I also love Mal, even if he does have a harsh, bitter side.
Darth Vader used to scare me badly as a kid . . .

  15. I have a few of your choices. I didn't think of Loki, good pick. Angel? I just can't get my head around him being a villain. Even though I do remember the season where he was.
