IWSG - November
The Insecure Writer's Support Group was created by Alex J. Cavanaugh as a place where writers can talk about their insecurities once a month, and receive encouragement and support from other writers. It's such an amazing group, it even has its own website now, which you can visit here.
First, an update on my health: I saw an ENT specialist yesterday, it's definitely an inner ear issue that I have, and he thinks I should recover soon. He's given me some exercises to speed up that recovery, so here's hoping I can get back to work soon.
While it's sucked being off work, it's also been good because I've been able to keep up with you guys, and I got some writing done. I entered into two Halloween blog hops, and I was one of the winners in one of them (to see my entry, click here). I'm happy with the writing I've done this month.
My insecurity this month is that the only reason I wrote so much this month was because of the theme - Halloween. I haven't worked on edits for my WIP in a couple of months now, so I'd really like to get some work done on it before I go back to work, whenever that will be.
So that's my goal for this month; get some edits done!
Congratulations on your win!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll find other worthy prompts to keep you writing.Don't forget the WEP has Holiday Celebrations that are out of this world coming up in December, so get those edits done on your WIP this month and marinate a great story for next month! :-) You can do it, just keep writing!
Congrats on your win! Don't stress about not getting your edits done, we all fall behind sometimes :). I'm sure once you get back into the swing of things it'll all fall into place. I also have problems with my inner ear - I'm due to go back to the ENT specialist in December, yay. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteYou won! Whoo Hoo! Good luck with those edits. Its a fun stage of the book I think. Even better when finished.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, and good luck with the edits! :)
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed your inner ears get better soon. And congratulations on the win!
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a diagnosis, hope the ear problems get better really soon. Congrats on the Halloween story win that's great news. Good luck with the editing, jumping into that myself too.
ReplyDeleteHope your health improves quickly! And, best wishes with your WIP!
ReplyDeleteHappy writing, editing, and life!
Glad he figured out what it was. Just what kind of exercises do you do for your inner ear?
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe horror is your niche?
Heh, heh, Laura! It is fabulous you won one of your Halloween hops. Thanks so much for putting WEP on your October list! Perhaps we'll have to keep up the creepy gene to keep you coming back! In December you can go for your life on any sort of sci-fi-ish story set off planet Earth. I hope you will join us.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I hope you make a speedy recovery and get yourself back into your routine soon!

ReplyDeleteI had ear issues earlier this year, and they are no fun. It's amazing how much an inner ear issue can impact your life. I hope you recover soon!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning in the blog hop! That's great that they've identified your ear problem. That's half the battle — figuring out what's wrong. Hope it clears up quickly! Good luck with your edits!
