ISWG - Time Management
For today's A to Z post click here.
It's time for this month's ISWG, created by Alex J. Cavanaugh.
My main insecurity today is similar to everyone else's - time management.
Although I scheduled all of my A to Z posts in advance, it's taking me a long time to read everyone else's posts and comment on people who visit my blog. This is making it difficult to find the time to work on my two assignments that are due on the 24th of April.
However, I realised the other day that I'm actually more ahead with these assignments than I thought I was. For my pamphlet, I have enough material to fill 13 pages out of the minimum 16 - I only need to write a couple more poems to fill the requirement. I have plenty more ideas for poems for my pamphlet (based on Greek mythology, like my A to Z posts) so it'll probably be closer to the maximum page limit of 30.
My other assignment is to write a ghost story that is 1500 words long, and then write a creative commentary of 1000 words on it. I haven't started this yet, but I do know what is going to happen in the story.
Hopefully I'll be able to manage my time a little better, and at this rate they'll probably both be finished before the deadline anyway, which is quite organised for me! :)

I'm with you on the whole time management thing Laura, it bothers me too and it always seems like as soon as I get up to speed with something it turns around and catches up with me again. You have done an amazing job on getting all your challenges scheduled so quickly so I wouldn't worry at all, you do a great job!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your assignments, Laura. I think you'll have them on time. :D
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with you assignments! I feel your pain, though, sometimes it tough to try to get to all those blogs. I find myself having to do a bit of picking and choosing with who i visit.
ReplyDeleteI think you're AMAZING for doing the A-Z... I'm still not brave enough!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with the ghost story.
ReplyDeleteHello, Laura! I have my posts done and scheduled, too, but it still is really time-consuming trying to keep up with responding to comments and visiting blogs. Good luck with your goals this month!
ReplyDeleteHappy A to Z-ing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines
I am terrible at time management, and the A to Z challenge doesn't help much. I wasn't smart enough to schedule my posts ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteThose assignments sound very interesting. Best of luck with them!
I don't always do such a great job with my time management either. I find I have to plan my day in advance and leave room for the unexpected or I'm a mess. Good luck with your ghost story!

Sounds like you're well on track!
ReplyDeleteI'm scheduling a couple of A-Z posts ahead so that I can take a break when I need it. Time management is tough, but doing the A-Z Challenge is a good way to practise.
Best of luck with the assignments. :-)
I think you are doing quite well. Yes, the A to Z reading and commenting does take more time than we usually spend on such activities, we are also getting tons of great ideas for our own writing. And, considering the NANOWRIMO writing pace (to get the 50K) in one month is about 1700 per day. Now I'm wondering what is going to happen in your ghost story!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with both things, Laura! The blogging is a lot of work, but I'm having fun with the challenge and it's nice to be back in the writing community!
ReplyDeleteAt least you have fun assignments! It's great when we can surprise ourselves, I know I usually tend to assume I'm behind... I think it's important not to stress about the Challenge too and just have fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny I call it Discipline which is a dirty word to artistic people and just happens to be my topic for tomorrow.

Sounds like you're doing just fine! Glad you worked it out so you hopefully won't be quite so stressed.

I didn't write my IWSG post today. If I did, this is almost EXACTLY what I would have said!
ReplyDeleteTime management is my Achilles heel as well, but it sounds like you're ahead of me - right now I'm only ahead of schedule for the next three posts for the Blogging A-Z Challenge! Good luck on your writing assignments!
ReplyDeleteI am having an insecurity overload - all that you described sounds like my highest aspirations of time management! :D
ReplyDeleteIf you are feeling like your time management is out of whack, then I should just give up now >.<
I'm just kidding. I know the feeling when you have impending deadlines with assignments due - it doesn't matter if you are on track or ahead of the game, you always feel like you're behind the eight ball until the assignments are actually DONE!
Best of luck with all of your April endeavors.
