Celebrate the Small Things

Image
Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly bloghop now hosted by Lexa Cain . The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week, no matter how small. This week I'm celebrating:  - The weather's been lovely this week, I think Spring might be on its way! I love winter, but I'm looking forward to some warmer weather.  - Krispy Kreme doughnuts. My mum bought a twelve pack on Tuesday, and they've been demolished. They're so good! I particularly like the glazed raspberry ones.  - I only have six days at work then I'm on holiday for a week. Can't wait!

What's Up Wednesday

What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow , and the idea is to let other bloggers know where you are with any writing and reading goals you may have. 1. What I'm Reading I'm finally onto Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, my favourite of the series! I'm quite excited to finish it, because I have quite a lot of new books that I haven't read waiting for me. 2. What I'm Writing (+ Writing Goal) I haven't been getting much writing done lately, because my shift patterns at work are changing and I never know when I'm working and when I'm not. Thankfully I'm on holiday for a week from the 7th March, so I have plans to get a lot of writing done then.  My writing goal this week is to start writing my posts for the A to Z challenge. 3. What Works for Me Planning well, and giving myself enough time to do something. If I set myself a goal that is too big, chances are I'll blow it off and not do

This week I'm celebrating:  - I got some revisions done this week for the first time in months. It was strange diving back into the story when I haven't looked at it for so long, but nice too.  - I've got at least one idea for every letter for the A to Z challenge now; I just need to write the posts.  - The wonders a good bubble bath can do after a stressful day at work.

What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow , and the idea is to let other bloggers know where you are with any writing and reading goals you may have. It's broken down into four headings: 1. What I'm Reading Currently reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, I'm right at the end now so it's Deathly Hallows next, my favourite! Then I'll be able to read the many other books I have waiting for me. 2. What I'm Writing (+ Writing Goal) I haven't done much writing as of yet, but that'll change today! I've worked out a goal system: to revise two chapters of my 2013 NaNo novel a week, while working on my A to Z posts in between. I'm planning on doing a chapter of revisions on each of my days off, since I never get anything done on the days when I'm at work. 3. What Works for Me Planning, and making sure I have time to do the thing I've planned to do when I've planned to do it.

This week I'm celebrating: - I signed up for the A to Z for the third year in a row - I can't wait to get writing my posts.  - I'm off work for three days this weekend starting today. This is very good news, since this week at work has been very stressful!  - Today I'm going to York with my mum to do some shopping - it's one of our favourite places, so it should be a great day.  - We got some snow this week! We don't get much of it where I live, so it's nice when it does come down, even if it didn't last very long.

IWSG - February

The Insecure Writer's Support Group was created by Alex J. Cavanaugh as a place where writers can talk about their insecurities once a month, and receive encouragement and support from other writers. It's such an amazing group, it even has its own website now, which you can visit here . This is the first time I've written a post for IWSG for a few months now - I'm surprised I haven't been kicked off the list! I'm back now, though, after a bit of a break, and I'm ready and raring to get writing again. The break did me a lot of good; I don't feel like I have too many insecurities today.  I suppose one that I do have is whether I can just pick up where I left off when I stopped writing. I haven't written for so long, I'm finding it a little difficult to pick it back up again. Part of this is due to a lack of time, but I'm wondering if there's some part of me that's afraid that I might try and fail.  I have a way to combat

Goals for February

Since I haven't done a "goals" post for so long (since November!) I'm just going to start fresh. My goals for February are: - Finish reading the Harry Potter series - I'm on Half Blood Prince now, so this is definitely a do-able goal. Then I can start reading the many books I have waiting for me. - Continue with my NaNo edits - I haven't worked on these for a long time, but I'm looking forward to getting back into them. - Plan for the A to Z Challenge - I know what I'm going to be doing for the A to Z challenge, but I still nee to assign topics to letters and actually write the posts. Hopefully I'll get started on that this month. Nothing too big, since I'm still easing myself back in!
