Celebrate the Small Things
Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly bloghop hosted by Viklit over at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week.
This week I'm celebrating:
- I've been doing a lot of research for my dissertation, and I'm really enjoying it! The subject matter is really dark, so it's a bit surprising that I'm enjoying it so much. I can't wait to start writing it in July (I'm doing it for Camp NaNoWriMo). I've finished the research now, so now it's time for planning! This week I'm focusing on the characters, so that should be fun.
- I saw my friends from my Masters course on Wednesday, so that was fun. We're releasing an anthology featuring all of our work, so we were mostly discussing that, although there was cake!
- Misty got her first batch of injections on Monday, and she was so brave! I also had to get some eye drops for her for a minor eye infection, but that looks to be all cleared up now. She still needs the eye drops until Monday though, and she doesn't like it when I put them in! She gets her next batch of injections in three weeks.
On the downside of this post, our other cat, Smoky, isn't very well. I'm taking her to the vets tomorrow, so fingers crossed some antibiotics will sort it out!
Well done on the research and hopefully Misty continues to get better as quickly as possible, it'll be annoying having the injections thing still looming over you. Hope Smoky gets well soon as well!
ReplyDeleteHope Smokey is all right.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have all your research done.
I'm sorry to hear about Smokey, keeping my fingers and toes crossed for her. I can only imagine how Misty acts about the eye drops, cats and medicine of any kind is a nightmare! Glad she's doing better.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, I hope Smokey and Misty are feeling better soon! It must be so difficult for you when they're under the weather. But, since you like rain, you would have loved it here in the Northeast US this week! Most of us are ready to resort to building an ark.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
One of my cats has been sick for a long time now (the vets don't know what's wrong with her) and we've done the eye drops and antibiotics route for a good long time. I hope you and Smoky have better luck.
ReplyDeleteAnd any get-together that involves cake is a good one.
All the best to Smokey. Glad you got some research done.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the anthology. That's quite an accomplishment. Good luck on the cat front. Hope Smokey improves quickly.
ReplyDeleteSorry about Smokey. Congrats on your good dissertation research, your upcoming writing and meeting a friend who writes too.
ReplyDeleteI hope Smoky gets well soon. Congrats on the anthology and dissertation research.
ReplyDeleteAww! I hope Smoky is okay! Good luck with your writing and congrats on the anthology!
ReplyDeleteI really hope Smoky gets better. Yay for the good news though. Best of lucks with your writing! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like the funnest dissertation I've ever heard of! I'd love to get a degree in creative writing. One of those things I'll have to look into after I retire. :) May your cat fare well soon. Writer’s Mark
ReplyDeleteI've been celebrating things working out for me this week. I hope they keep working.

Good Luck with your Master's program, and I hope your cat will feel better soon. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, they're like my children. Hope all works out.
ReplyDeleteOooh poor Smoky, hope she is well soon.
ReplyDeleteSo great that you are enjoying the dissertation, and... I know you were discussing the anthology... but cake? Yay for the cake lol
That sounds like a fun way to do your dissertation with Camp NaNo, and a Master's group that publishing their work - awesome!!! I hope your older cat feels better soon, and that Misty takes her eye drops well.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Here's hoping Smoky improves. And also hoping you have a blast and find much success with your Camp NaNoWriMo project.
