I Got In!
First of all, sorry for the lack of posting yesterday, but it's mainly because of the letter I got, and all the stuff I had to sort out because of it.
So, those of you who regularly read my blog might know that I recently applied (very last minute!) for a Creative Writing Masters Degree - well, I got a conditional offer! As long as they get two references (one of which they received on Tuesday, the other they will be getting on Monday) I'll be starting straight after Centerparcs!
I was so excited when I opened the letter yesterday, I honestly thought it would be a rejection! I think after two failed attempts at getting on the PGCE, I just thought I wasn't good enough to get into university for a follow on degree. So imagine my surprise when I opened the letter and it was a yes!
Now I just need to sort out funding (which is going to be fun) meaning that I have to send an application out for a Career Development Loan, since I certainly can't afford to pay for the degree myself; it costs £5188! If it turns out that I can't get a loan, I'll have to drop out of the course in December, which would be horrible, so fingers crossed I get one!
I'm really excited about the course, especially because my sister is in her third year at the same university, so we'll be going together! She lives in Lincoln and I'll be commuting, so I'll be able to stay at hers whenever I need to, which will be good.
I'll be keeping my job while I do my degree; I can't afford not to! I'm hoping the degree will take up about 3 days of the week, and I'll work the other four. It'll be tiring, but so worth it!
Anyway, that's it for today, just thought I'd let you all know my good news! Hope you're all having a good day :)

ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! I hope you get the loan. I know how bad funding problems can be. There were times I wasn't sure if I'd get the loans I needed to finish my degree, but somehow I got through. Best of luck to you! You deserve this!

DeleteVery well done! Are you eligible for a student loan, or is that only for undergraduates?
ReplyDeleteThanks! They're only available for undergraduates, unfortunately! Could do with one of those right now :)
