A to Z Challenge Theme

So, it's time for the big reveal!

My theme for the A to Z Challenge 2013 is going to be Greek Mythology. I've always been interested in Greek myths, but I don't know very many of them, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to learn more. The only problem I've found so far is that the Greeks didn't use the same alphabet as us, and therefore it's hard to find things for some letters e.g. z and y, because the Greeks didn't have those letters. However, I can use different versions of the Greek names. For example, the Goddess Aphrodite is also known as Venus, so there's my V. I just need to be a little creative.

The other reason I've chosen this theme is because I'm working on a pamphlet for a university assignment, and I've chosen the same theme for it - Greek Mythology. So my research for my A to Z posts will also be research for my assignment. Two birds, one stone. You'll get to see some of my pamphlet work next week, since I have to post it on my blog for our session on Wednesday.

So, there you have it! My theme for the A to Z Challenge is going to be Greek Mythology. I hope you'll all enjoy what I come up with :)

  8. That sounds like it will be good and there is plenty of material written about them, and if you get stuck on a letter sneak a Roman one in most people will not notice.

I'm following in your footsteps of last year and the theme is fairy tales only I am writing them. I have started already because writing things on the day as I did last year was very stressful so I plan to be ahead of the game this year . . . . Not so long to go either, so remember the old saying 'Beware of Greeks bearing gifts' which means it is nearly Christmas and someone has left a rocking horse outside your front door.

    1. I did a module on classical myths at uni, but we didn't go into too much depth, so it's nice to have the opportunity to delve more deeply :)
