My trip to Bridlington!

So, I've been pretty lazy with my blog posts since the A to Z challenge finished! I have had an excuse though, I've had a very busy week decorating my sister's bedroom and clearing mine out ready for decorating. My mum and I both got two weeks off work so that we can get the decorating done, but I'll talk about that more later on this week!
When we went, it was a lot less sunny, much more rainy and grey!

Today's post is about my visit to Bridlington on Tuesday. My uncle David, who is my mum's brother, recently got a new TV and so he offered me and mum his old one, a 42 inch! This is really good, because the main one we were using was a tiny 22 inch one, so there's a big difference! So me, my mum and her boyfriend Mike went to Bridlington, where my uncle lives, to pick up the new TV.
We picked a pretty bad day to go, because it was really cold and it rained all day. My uncle was at work until 12, so when we got there at about quarter past 11 we went to a cafe and had some teacakes with raspberry jam (yummy) and a cup of tea.
Not the actual teacakes we had, but all of the pictures are on my mum's phone and she isn't here at the minute!

Then we went to meet my uncle and went to his flat to test out his new 3DTV by watching a bit of Avatar, and it did look very good! We then went for some fish and chips, and on our way back home we went to a sweet shop. I love going to sweet shops, where they have all of the sweets lined up in jars! I was spoilt for choice, and spent absolutely ages trying to figure out what sweets I wanted. I ended up getting some coconut ice to try, some alphabet letters, a stick of rock, and some toxic waste, which I remember me and my sister used to eat in the playground and play a game, where the person who could keep one of the sour sweets in their mouth for the longest won.
Tongue-tinglingly good!

I had a really good day in Bridlington, especially seeing my uncle again, as I don't get to see him very often because he lives so far away. Also, I've been thinking of starting a blog schedule, so that I actually write regular posts on here! One of the things I've learnt during the A to Z is that if I have a schedule, I will follow it, so it seemed like a good idea. I'm thinking of doing a couple of posts a week, and they could be about anything: things that have happened to me during the week, or anything that occurs to me to write about! I just need to figure out what days are best for me to write on. :)

    1. Aww sorry! It was a very English day, right down to the rainy weather! I think if I went away from England I'd miss it a lot, but at the same time it would be exciting to be somewhere different! :)

  2. We've had our summer. March. I don't mind the rain so much as the grey clouds.

Look on the bright side, you got a new TV, fish and chips and time with family. What could be better than that?

    1. Exactly! Always look on the bright side :) I don't mind the rain so much as the cold - I just want it to get warm so I don't have to feel cold all of the time, and this comes from someone who loves Winter! Oh well, it'll get warm eventually :)

    1. I'm going to do my Reflections post sometime today, if I have time! It certainly is a big TV, I haven't watched any movies on it yet but it's good for all the other things I've watched on it! :)
