Souper Blog Hop

As soon as I saw the theme for this blog hop, I knew exactly which soup I was going to use for it; my absolute favourite chicken noodle soup. I've been making it for a few years now, and it's still up there as one of my all time favourite meals.

It's really simple to make, too; chopped carrot and celery, thyme, salt and pepper, chicken stock which you use to poach the chicken, then take it out, shred it and put it back, add some noodles then parsley to garnish and you're done.

Of course, it's best served with a couple of warm buttered rolls, as shown in the picture below.

BLURB: Gregory Green loves his mom’s pea soup, but when he eats it at school, all of his friends make fun of how it looks. He doesn’t think it looks like bugs, and it tastes good! Then at recess, his friends run from him, screaming, “He’s a monster!” Gregory doesn’t know why his friends are being mean until he sees his skin is green. The teasing gets worse until an unlikely friend comes to the rescue—his teddy bear, Sammy. Sammy usually only comes to life for Gregory and his family, but Sammy has an important lesson to teach Gregory and his classmates.

  9. This sounds like my kind of chicken noodle soup. As much as I adore the Cambel's brand, for some reason, their chicken noodle just doesn't do it for me. I'd resorted to making it from scratch but I think your recipe is easier than what I'm currently using.

  10. Hi Laura - that looks a delicious soup - just what's needed in the UK at the moment, I gather ... take care in the weather and enjoy those hearty warming meals - cheers Hilary
