What's Up Wednesday
What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow, and the idea is to let other bloggers know where you are with any writing and reading goals you may have.
1. What I'm reading
I just finished Underworld by Meg Cabot - I said last week that I hoped it would be better than the last in the series, but unfortunately I was disappointed again. It just didn't seem as though anything really happened in the book. I'll still read the next one, but only because I want to finish the series.
I'm now reading Allegiant by Veronica Roth - finally! I've been waiting for what feels like forever to read this book. Part of me doesn't want to get to the end, because it's the last in the series. I'm sure I won't let that stop me, though!
2. What I'm writing
I'm still deep in preparations for NaNo on Friday - I can't believe it's only a couple of days away! I only have a few character profiles to do now, and then I think I'll be as ready as I can be! I'm also working on a couple more Halloween stories, one of which will be up later today!
3. What else I've been up to
I haven't been up to much, really, mostly working. When I haven't been working I've been doing NaNo prep and writing, with the exception of Monday and Tuesday, which I spent with my boyfriend, mostly watching anime!
4. What inspires me right now

4. What inspires me right now
I'm inspired by Halloween right now - I just love the atmosphere of the holiday, and it's getting me really motivated to write. I'm also inspired by music - it always helps to put me into the writing mood.
I love that Halloween inspires you and spurs you on Laura, your writing around this time of the year is excellent, not that it's ever anything but though.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with NaNo!
ReplyDeleteYay, only two days until NaNo! *high five* I can't wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteI also felt underwhelmed by that Meg Cabot series. I listened to the audiobook of the second installment and I tuned out a lot; it really felt like nothing was happening. The whole story seemed to take place in 2 or 3 days. But, I still enjoy her other books, like the Heather Wells series, so maybe it's her more upbeat characters I'm a fan of.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear what you think of Allegiant! And good luck with NaNo!
ReplyDeleteLots of Allegiant reading going around. It's sitting on my printer right now, waiting for me to get caught up on classwork so I can start it. Hopefully tomorrow or Friday.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with NaNo!
I'm still trying to prepare for NaNo too. I can't believe October is almost over. Crazy. Good luck with NaNo. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with NaNo! I've never done it...you people are so brave...
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed ALLEGIANT--hope you like it too! And I agree about Halloween being an inspiring time. Perfect for writing creepy, spooky stories :)
