IWSG - July

The Insecure Writer's Support Group was created by Alex J. Cavanaugh as a place where writers can talk about their insecurities once a month, and receive encouragement and support from other writers. It's such an amazing group, it even has its own website now, which you can visit here.

There's only one thing on my mind this month, and that's Camp NaNo. My word count target for the month is 25,000, which means around 800 words a day. I chose these numbers because they seem do-able; I work 5 days a week, an average of 10 hours a day, so I didn't want to aim too high and then give up half way through. I'm determined to get to 25,000 words at least by the end of the month. Any more than that will be a bonus.

  1. You can do it! I bet you're a fast typist and will hit that in less than two hours.

  12. I did Camp NaNo once. I think you are wise to set doable goals. For a while my own daily writing goal was 1000 words, but that was difficult. Right now it's 500, and it helps to have that lesser goal. The important thing is to make writing a daily occurrence, even if it's only 100 words.
