What's Up Wednesday

What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Erin L Funk and Jaime Morrow, and the idea is to let other bloggers know where you are with any writing and reading goals you may have.

1. What I'm reading

I finished reading City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare last week, which was great - I've already bought the next book, which I'll probably read next month.

I also finished reading Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl on Monday, and that was really good. I've been meaning to read it for ages now, since I finished Beautiful Creatures last year, but I kept forgetting.

I'm now reading Book of Shadows by Cate Tiernan, which has been on my Kindle for a while now. I've been trying to read books about witches as research for the novel I'm writing, so hopefully this helps me with my novel.

2. What I'm writing

I'm up to my elbows with A to Z prep at the moment, so not much time for anything else. I've scheduled my A-J posts, so only K-Z to go. I should have finished scheduling by this time next week. Then hopefully I can get started on my revisions.

3. What else I've been up to

I had a great time on my trip to York last week, and I've had an awesome weekend spending time with my mum. It's back to work tomorrow, back to normal.

4. What inspires me right now

Having some time off work and being able to catch up with everything. I feel refreshed and ready to tackle everything.

  1. Good job on the A-Z posts, and enjoy the revisioning :-) (Blogger tells me that's not a word, but then again, it tells me Blogger isn't a word either!)

  2. Sounds like great progress with the A-Z posts! Good luck with your revisions! :)

  3. Yay! Looking forward to the A to Z. I just finished my posts, and am now madly working on revisions, hoping to be done before the month of madness hits. =)

  4. I also just prepped A to Z posts--I got through H. My posts are very short this year, just one paragraph, which is tough for me, but timewise, all I can handle. Plus, in order to keep up with commenting I tend to skim or really only read shorter posts anyway.

  5. I've been trying to get book 2 locally for The Mortal Instruments without success. If can't get it by mid-April I'm going online to TBD. I want this series in paperback. So jealous of you right now Laura. Haven't finished my A-Z posts either. But at least I have a theme. At least. Enjoy your time off and traveling.

  7. I'm a big fan of Cassandra Clare's books! I've got the 4th (and last I think) Beautiful Creatures book sitting on my shelf but I'm thinking a reread of the first 3 before I get to the last.
    Have a great week!

  8. I kind of have a goal of getting caught up on the Mortal Instruments books before the next instalment is out in May. I guess that gives me a chunk of time, but I better get going! My husband and I took the train from Edinburgh to London and passed York on our way. Another person on the train told us we really should visit it sometime and now I kind of want to. I'm happy you had a good time! Hope you have a great week, Laura!

  9. I just saw the other day that the next Mortal Instruments book, CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE, comes out in May. I'm all caught up, so I can't wait to read it! Glad to hear you had a fun time in York. Good luck with all your A-Z prep!

  10. I'm very jealous of your catch up time, I really need some right now if only for sleep! Good luck with finishing your A-Z posts, I'm not too far behind you :-)

  11. Oh, I just finished Clare's series a few weeks ago and loved it. Book of Shadows is on my TBR list. . .if I ever get to it ;) Glad you enjoyed seeing your Mum, and I bet she was glad to see you too. As to A-Z, yay for preparations! I so want to do it again this year but know I'd never keep up - not this time. So go get them! ;)

  12. My writing schedule's much like yours, Laura: March is A-Z prep month, and April's revisions month. I hope to have most, if not all of my Beta feedback by the end of the month, so I plan to spend April making this novel query-ready. Eeek! I get palpitations just saying that... :)

All the best to you this week, Laura! :)
