The Great TBR Challenge 2014

Laura Crampton has had the great idea to start up a TBR challenge, and I thought I'd join in, since I've got a ton of books on my Kindle that have been waiting for ages to be read. If you'd like to join in, click here.

There are a few rules:

- I will write a post at the beginning of every month, outlining the books I intend to read.
- I will be writing reviews and recommendations of every book that I do read.
- I will also do a wrap-up post at the end of every month, showing the books I actually read.

And the big rule of course:

- NO MORE NEW BOOKS!

This rule should be fine for me, since I never have money to buy books anyway. Although, it's my birthday next week, so any books I get for that are OK, right? Right?

So, here are the books I want to read in March:

Fraction of Stone by Kelley Lynn - This one's been on my Kindle forever. I remember being really excited about it when I got it, so I've got no idea why I waited so long to read it.

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare - I've had this one on my bookshelf for at least a year. I just never got around to reading it. I'm so behind on books by Cassandra Clare - I have a lot of catching up to do!

Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl - I read Beautiful Creatures last year, but never got around to reading Beautiful Darkness.

Book of Shadows by Cate Tiernan - I'm writing a novel about witches, so I decided to read as many books about witches as I could. I bought this one on my Kindle with an amazon gift card I won, and promptly forgot about it.

The Memory Game by Sharon Sant - I got this book from NetGalley to review, and still haven't read it. Time to rectify that!

Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman - I've only read American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and I've been meaning to read more books by him for a while. I have a few on my Kindle, so I think it's time to work through them.

Judging by my track record for January and February, it's unlikely that I'll read all six of these, but I'm aiming high! Besides, I'll never reach my Goodreads reading goal if I don't get moving.

Comments

  1. One book every five days.
And yes, it's all right if you buy a bunch of books on your birthday.

  2. Good luck with your reading for this month, and it's totally fine to include any birthday books.

I've not read the Beautiful Creatures book, is it any good?

  4. I have a bunch of books on my Kindle that need reading, but I can't even think about joining this challenge right now. Good luck with the reading, and I need to go find that Neil Gaiman book now for my own library.

  5. I'm impressed! I've not read City of Fallen Angels yet either, but I'm getting there. I do have quite a few books on my Kindle that I need to read. Good luck Laura!

  6. Nice list. I started Beautiful Darkness but need to finish it. Read Fraction of Stone ages ago and reviewed it. Definitely a must read. Enjoy the books and I have a backlog too.
