Winter!

For the first time in about a month, I have no plan for the blog post I'm writing. At the minute I'm hoping that if I just keep typing, something will come to me! Schedules suck. I already feel bad for not posting on Saturday, so I had to post something today! It doesn't help that I was at work this morning, so I was up at 3.30, so I'm really tired! Finding it hard to concentrate on anything.
Ooh, thought of one! I'm really, really fed up of summer now. I've always been a winter person, but I do enjoy my summers as well, but this year I'm just fed up of it! It doesn't help that it's rained practically every day of summer so far, but still been stupidly hot! I don't mind the rain so much, it's the fact that none of my summer shoes are practical for rainy weather, and I'm not good with heat. I get heat bumps all over my fingers, and I get too hot rushing around at work (Asda seriously need to invest in some air conditioning). And it's really annoying trying to decide what to wear, because I have to try to dress for rain, but also dress for heat. You never know what the weather's going to be like here, so you have to try to be prepared for any kind of weather!

I kind of wish I hadn't typed "too hot" into google images; I think I've burned my retinas.
At least in winter you know it's going to be cold. I love my winter wardrobe, lots of skirts and pairs of tights, and boots that are suitable for any kind of weather. I love wearing thick jumpers and putting the heating and the fire on, and being all cosy and snuggled up inside while it's really cold outside. I also like the fact that it gets darker earlier on a night, it just has a really wintry feel to it! I love being all snuggled up in bed in winter - in summer I'm always too hot in bed, so I don't sleep as well. Oh, I love snow, too. And Christmas! (But who doesn't, right?) Not just because of the presents, either - more because of the tradition of it. I love decorating and that festive feeling you get.

The only thing I don't like about winter is de-icing my car!

  2. Don't worry, Laura with the weather we are getting this year it might well snow next week! Seriously though I like a bit of sunshine. Being able to sit in the garden with family and friends having a BBQ and glass of chilled wine is lush! I'm missing that. Where we live it isn't particularly hot either so still wearing boots and cardigan.

  3. I myself am a fan of sun and heat, but last week it was about 105 degrees almost every day. We're also in a bit of a drought, so if you could tell the rain to cross the ocean and park itself over Iowa, it would be much appreciated. I doubt it will listen, but who knows?

  4. I'm sorry to hear that you're not enjoying the heat Laura and I can understand that at time the heat is frustrating but those Winter dark nights are horrible and I won't lie, I'm glad to get a break for a while haha :) Ah well, Summer will end soon enough and we'll be back to Winter anyway, hopefully it's just a tiny bit warmer this year and with less snow too!

    1. Haha the colder and snowier the better for me, but I get why people don't like it! I'm very much in the minority on preferring winter, but that's ok, I understand why most people prefer summer :)

  6. I'm definately a fall person. I'm a sweatshirt and shorts kind of guy. And skirts are part of your winter wardrobe? Mine consists of puffy jackets and thick pants.

    1. Haha yeah I wear skirts in winter, but I do wear thick tights with them! I don't go bare-legged, that would be crazy! :)

  8. Well I'm not looking forward to winter all that much as I'm moving to Manitoba and it is FREEZING there in winter. I also like the green of summer. But I could do without the bugs.

    1. Oh yeah, I also hate the bugs in summer! It's nice in winter when they all hibernate :) I do like the green of summer, it's nice seeing all the trees and plants in bloom :)

  9. I'm glad you were able to work through the mental blank and write a good post and I agree that Schedules are not easy to work too. I would advice just posting as and when you can and want too, if it becomes a chore then you are more likely to give up completely and that would be a shame for the rest of us.

Up at 3:30 that is serious stuff, that would finish me off entirely for days on end.

I like winter and summer but not what we have at present, I blame the Olympics, I think all will be fine once they are over...

    1. I'm ok with my schedule, I just need to plan it better!
Yeah, getting up at 3.30 is not fun, got to for the next 4 days too!
I think we should just blame everything on the Olympics! :)

  10. I don't like winter... the freezing temperatures, ice, snow, yuck. Plus, I'm cold a lot of the time so the heat feels nice. :)

I do think the pic with the ice/snow covered trees is gorgeous, though. :)

    1. I get cold really easily so you'd think that I'd hate winter, it's weird!
It is a nice picture, it's the first one that popped up on google images when I typed in 'winter'! :)

  11. Oh I agree with you completely! Everything you said about Winter is exactly how I feel about it! The only thing I hate is driving over ice/snow lol

    1. Oh I know exactly what you mean, I absolutely hate driving in snow, the first time I did I managed to lose control of my car, scary!
At least I now know to take corners really really slow...:)
