Goals for November and Award!

I know I say this every month, but I can't believe another month has flown by! It's crazy how fast time flies when you're busy. So, time for my monthly goals!

Last month my goals were:
1. Start planning my assignments - I haven't got as far as I'd like in planning my assignments, but I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend while I'm off work. I only have one assignment due in before Christmas, so I don't have to start panicking too much.

2. Try to find time to read - I finally managed to start A Casual Vacancy yesterday, so hopefully I'll get that finished soon, and put a review up.

3. Set aside one day a week for piano practise - Yet again, I haven't spent any time practising. At the minute this is my lowest priority, but I'm hoping I'll get some time to practise soon!

Here are this months goals:
1. Do my first assignment well - it's due on the 14th of November, and I want to get it planned and written plenty of time before it's due, so I can edit and edit until I can't do any more - I really want to do well, so I'm going to try my absolute hardest.

2. Work on my Portfolio - It's due on the 9th of January, and it's going to take a lot of hard work. I have to write two full pieces of writing, and include all of the drafts and edits, and I was hoping I'd be further on with them by now.

3. Finish A Casual Vacancy - I started it yesterday, and I'm hoping it won't take me too long to read. And then I'll finally have something to review on here!

4. Bruges Christmas Market - I'm going to the Bruges Christmas Market at the end of November, and I can't wait! It's going to be amazing, there's the market itself and then the city, and there's an ice skating rink, so it should be a lot of fun.

Now that I've done my monthly goals, onto other news: Sabrina at Pouffia has gifted me with the Super Sweet Blogger Award! Thanks Sabrina!
I have to answer sweet related questions, so this is my kind of award!

Cookies or Cake?
Cake, every time. I love cake, it's my favourite thing, ever. Cupcakes, birthday cake, fruit cake...any kind of cake, really. Give me cake, and I will love you forever.

Chocolate or Vanilla?
Hmm this is a tough one...in cake I prefer vanilla, but in sweets I prefer chocolate. I would also rather have vanilla ice cream than chocolate.

What is your favourite sweet treat?
Other than cake? I think I'll go with Haribo Tangfastics :)

When do you crave sweet things most?
After I've eaten a big meal, I absolutely love puddings.

If you had a sweet nickname what would it be?
Oh I don't know...my mum calls me 'sweet pea' sometimes, does that count?

That was a fun award, I really want cake now, though!
Now for the people I'm bestowing the award onto:
L. G. Keltner at Writing Off The Edge
Jackie at Bouquet of Books
Matthew at Matthew's Blog

Oh, one last thing...Here's a picture of my costume last night:
My sister is on the left, I'm on the right :)

  2. I love your outfit so much Laura and your answer to the sweet questions are great! Thanks for passing it on to me as well, do I have to answer the same questions just? I'll definitely take part if so! And well done on your goals too, hopefully you'll do as awesome this month as well. I can't wait to hear your Casual Vacancy review, I'm considering buying it but I've heard mixed reviews, maybe your review might sway me either way.

  4. Finding time to read and practicing piano sounds like great goals. I hope you'll manage to do both (if not them all).

I also like the costume! I love dressing up as a witch (on Halloween or during Carnaval.. which is an entirely differnt story).

Also, glad you like the award! :)

  5. Hello, Laura! Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. :) Wishing you lots of luck on your November goals! I read The Casual Vacancy last weekend. The first 30 or so pages are a little slow as the characters are introduced, but then it picks up and is a pretty quick read. I put up a 5-star review on Goodreads if you want to check it out! http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/311209110

Your costumes are fantastic. Hope you had a spooktacular Halloween!!

  6. I like the costume! :) I feel the exact same way about vanilla and chocolate. :) I'll be interested to hear if "A Casual Vacancy" is good. I'm not sure I wanna read it since I loved Harry Potter so much and it will be different.

    1. Thanks! It is very different compared to Harry Potter, but at the same time you can definitely tell that it's J. K. Rowling writing it, and I love her writing :)

  7. I don't think A Casual Vacancy has exactly hit the world by storm. Sometimes it is best to stick with what you do well. In my case its . . . . . . . . .?

    AH yes eat ice cream.
